It was the beginning of just another day back in the year 20XX. The renowned scientist Dr. Light gives a tour of his newest endeavor.
Roll demonstrates with her vacuum arm, but goes a little overboard, sucking up one reporter’s hat… and his toupee.
The all continue on into another part of the plant, except for Rush, who detects something that’s not quite right. Ducking behind a stack of the lightanium rods, he spots a Battonton flying out of a ventilation duct. These bat-like robots are one of Dr. Wily’s trademarks, primarily used for spying. The Battonton stops in front of the lightanium. It’s eyes glow as it begins to record what it sees… *************************************** Sure enough, on Dr. Wily’s Skull-car…
On his command, a squadron of robot-piloted jets fly toward the plant.
*************************************** Back at the plant, Rush tries intercepting the Battonton. He leaps at it, only to miss and land in a vat of liquid plasma. Lapping some of it up, he turns into his Jet Form and quickly chases down the bat. Grabbing it in his mouth, he hurries over to Megaman.
No sooner do those words come out of his mouth, than a huge explosion rocks the plant.
They rush to a control room, where Megaman brings up some monitors surveying the area and spots several jets firing upon the plant.
Megaman, Roll, and Rush hurry off to meet Wily’s robots.
*************************************** Outside, a pair of gigantic mechanical claws emerge from a hatch in the plant as Light activates the defenses. One of them grabs a Wily jet and flings it into another.
A group of armored tanks approach the plant and open fire. In response, another hatch opens, revealing a large nozzle that sprays a slippery substance across the road. This causes the tanks to go out of control and crash into each other. At this time, Megaman, Roll, and Rush appear as more tanks show up, crossing the previous hazard by crawling over the previous wave of tanks. The tanks open fire as Megaman returns the volley. Roll sucks up a plasma shot in her vacuum arm and shoots it back at the tanks. The the armor on these machines is strong and their combined attacks have little effect.
Running up to a tank, Megaman leaps into the air and blasts a hole into its top. Landing on the tank, Megaman throws out the driver.
Gaining control of the tank, Megaman easily wipes out the remaining two tanks. Back at the Skull-car…
In response, Wily’s robot masters, Cutman, Gutsman, and Snakeman open up the back hatch of the Skull-car.
The three parachute down to where Megaman is. Gutsman picks up the tank Megaman’s driving.
Gutsman flips the tank over.
Megaman suddenly pops out from the tank’s underside hatch and blasts a neat hole right through Gutsman’s chest.
Gutsman falls over as Cutman and Snakeman attack. Megaman blasts their weapons out of the sky, save a single Rolling Cutter, which knocks him into the wall. A quartet of Search Snakes then chews apart the piping above Megaman. Megaman barely dodges the large chunks of pipe that fall down as he catches a smaller pipe and hurls it at Snakeman. The pipe lands neatly over Snakeman’s arm cannon, which redirects his next Search Snake at Cutman, and chews him apart. As Snakeman tries to get the pipe off, he too is blasted by Megaman.
As they bicker, Wily’s Skull-car picks up their pieces and flies off. *************************************** Later, at Wily’s Skull Fortress, the bad doctor ponders his next move.
Suddenly, as though it were an answer to Wily’s dilemma, a bright light fills the room as a swirling portal materializes. As it does, two figures emerge. One is a slender-built humanoid, and the other is a much larger, huskier figure. Suddenly, the smaller one speaks. ???: Dr. Wily, I presume?
Wily presses a button underneath his console. A second later, Gutsman, Cutman, and Snakeman hurry into the room.
The burly simian raises his hand as electricity crackles from it. Then he drives it into the ground, sending hundreds of thousands of volts into the three robot masters, blowing them back out the door.
Vile grabs Wily and holds him by the collar.
Vile tosses Wily aside and downloads the data.
He turns and blows a hole in the fortress, and then leaves with his cohort.
*************************************** Later, back at the plant, yet another series of explosions start making a mess out of everything going on.
Megaman hurries out, riding a small mini-tank. Roll and Rush join him.
Vile lowers his shoulder cannon and blows the mini-tank clear away. The resulting explosion also knows Roll down and blows Rush to pieces. Spark Mandrill then raises his hand and blows the tank apart with his Electric Spark. Megaman leaps clear of the blast.
He opens up a barrage of buster shots on the duo, but they bounce off as though they were ping-pong balls.
Megaman just stares in horror and awe as he continues his futile assault.
Before they can, however, they’re both blasted by another Electric Spark, pinning them to the wall and paralyzing them with its electrical energy.
Suddenly, another portal opens behind him as another figure emerges. He fires a huge buster shot, which Vile and Mandrill dodge.
Vile fires at the newcomer, but he leaps out of the way and lands near Megaman and Roll. He then frees them from the electric field binding them, then he rushes back into the battle with Vile and Spark Mandrill.
He fires a buster shot, which misses again and demolishes a freight truck.
X continues firing at the fleeing Vile and Mandrill, but mostly winds up blowing up part of the plant.
He chases after his quarry.
Meanwhile, Vile and Mandrill duck behind a tanker truck. X blasts it, resulting in a gigantic explosion. When the dust clears…
Dr. Light joins up with the others.
*************************************** Back at Skull Fortress…
*************************************** That night, at Dr. Light’s lab, everyone formally greets their guest.
*************************************** Megaman and X return to the battle site at the plasma plant, to look for clues as to where Vile and Spark Mandrill escaped to.
X looks up.
*************************************** Megaman and X hurry to Wily’s Skull Fortress, Megaman with Rush Jet, and X aboard a sky cycle borrowed from Dr. Light.
*************************************** At the dam upstream from the plasma plant, a large helicopter approaches, bearing Wily’s trademark “W”…
Protoman presses a button, and a turret emerges from the underside of the helicopter.
Just as the cannon is about to fire, a buster shot destroys it. Another shot strikes the backside of the chopper.
Wily’s ‘copter lands on the dam. Megaman and X land as well.
He runs after X, who is now confronting the Mavericks.
Vile fires, and the two of them dodge and exchange fire. Suddenly, X leaps into the air and drop kicks Vile into a wall. Cutman and Gutsman now arrive and join in.
Cutman tosses a Rolling Cutter at a nearby electric tower, cutting it loose. Gutman picks it up and readies himself to hurl it at X.
Another plasma shot hits the tower, causing it to nearly fall on Cutman and Gutsman, who scatter.
He gives a thumbs up to X, who returns it. He then turns to Vile, buster drawn.
Suddenly, an Electric Spark flings him away from Vile. Spark Mandrill runs over and helps Vile up.
They board the chopper as it takes off. Vile opens a door on the side.
He fires a barrage of shots at the dam, quickly reducing it to rubble, and turning the area in front of it into a raging river, sweeping Megaman, Rush, and X with it.
As Megaman and X are carried off by the water to destinations unknown, Wily, Vile, and the others speed away.
*************************************** Down in the water, X manages to grab hold of a tree branch, then grabs Megaman and Rush, and they make their way onto dry land.
Sure enough, it’s caught in some tree branches.
*************************************** Meanwhile, Wily’s chopper has arrived at the plasma plant.
He spoke too soon. The mechanical arms fly out of the water, right towards the helicopter. Vile and Spark Mandrill are quick to destroy them, however.
Vile shoots a hole in the plant’s roof and a winch is lowered to pick up the lightanium rods.
His celebration is cut short by a plasma shot slamming the side of the helicopter.
The airborne Megaman and X continue to pummel the craft. Vile returns fire.
When X’s and Vile’s blaster shots collide, a huge flash lights up the night sky. The shockwave also flings Megaman and X back, nearly longing control.
They regain control, but by the time they do, Wily and the others have escaped.
*************************************** As they continue on, Wily and friends have set up shop on a nearby island, where the preparations to the Super Blaster are being completed. Vile takes this time to contact Sigma.
As he finishes the transmission, the portal begins to open. Menawhile…
Megaman and X are approaching the island.
Wily starts getting the Super Blaster ready.
A massive beam of energy is fired from Wily’s Super Blaster.
The tremendous energy from the beam has not only created a massive amount of light, but its heat has evaporated all of the water around the island. Megaman and X are nowhere in sight.
Megaman shoots a hole in the control center, sending Cutman and Gutsman falling through. Snakeman hops down and fires a Search Snake.
X punches Snakeman and copies the Search Snake. Meanwhile, Vile and Mandrill run for the portal, chased by Megaman on Rush Jet.
He fires at the two Mavericks, still having no effect. Spark Mandrill shoots an Electric Spark, which Megaman blasts out of the sky.
Cutman throws a Rolling Cutter at X, which he grabs out of the air and crushes. The three robot masters run away.
X fires the Search Snake, which tears through the Super Blaster, utterly demolishing it. Wily takes off in his chopper.
As Wily blubbers, all the way home, Megaman and Rush hover in the way of Vile’s time portal.
X blasts Mandrill, sending him flying into Vile, which in turn sends them both flying into the hover cart with the lightanium, knocking it all around.
Vile fires, and Megaman pulls X out of the way.
X jumps down and grabs the hover cart, and rams it into the Mavericks, pushing them into the time portal, where it begins closing behind him. Megaman gets off Rush and turns to him.
Rush barks in agreement as the portal fades away and vanishes.

DR LIGHT: This plasma power plant is the result of my latest technological breakthrough. Before I discovered a process that produced a very rare metal alloy “lightanium”, we could only make small amounts of plasma.
MEGAMAN: Yeah; just enough to power up my blaster.
ROLL: And my household appliances.
PROTOMAN: The spy-bot transmissions are coming through now, Doc.
DR WILY: Excellent. Once we know the layout of the plant, my attack can’t fail! (Presses a button) Mini Skull Jets! Begin attack!!
GUTSMAN: We’ll take care of business, Dr. Wily!
SNAKEMAN: You blew it, Cutman!
CUTMAN: I did not! You did!
VILE: I am Vile, Reploid from the future. I’m here to bring the lightanium rods back to my time (he lowers his shoulder-mounted cannon in Wily’s face), and you will help me.
MEGAMAN X: All in the line of duty.
SPARK MANDRILL: The ‘copter is repaired.
SIGMA: Well done, Vile.
